Barkham Terrace, SE1
Design and construction of basement below existing lower ground floor and rear garden
A period property located adjacent to the Imperial War Museum and within the subterranean tidal flood zone of the River Thames.
Access to the site was via a narrow one direction roadway which requires close management of material deliveries and waste removal.
Cranbrook were commissioned to obtain planning permission, resolve party wall agreements and to construct a nanny suite which included bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and utility room.
The client remained in residence during the construction of the basement only vacating to allow the Cranbrook team to carry out refurbishment works to the upper levels of the existing house and landscaping to the rear garden.
